ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — September 24, 2026 — Zebraworks today announced new Rate Management capabilities for law firms using Aderant, giving firms a more efficient way to manage rate changes throughout the year and complete the annual rate review process without relying on spreadsheets, email and repeated follow-up.
Why Rate Increases Go Unrealized
Rate increases are one of the most important revenue levers available to a law firm. But putting those increases into practice can be surprisingly difficult. Billing teams assemble spreadsheets, distribute them to billing attorneys, follow up for decisions and reconcile responses while trying to ensure that every client, matter and rate set receives the appropriate treatment.
That friction can leave approved rate increases unapplied and revenue unrealized.
“Most firms lose part of every rate increase to friction, not because clients said no,” said Bill Bice, CEO of Zebraworks. “Rate Management removes that friction. Attorneys see exactly where a decision is needed, billing knows exactly what has been decided, and nothing disappears into a spreadsheet or an email thread.”
A Worklist for Every Billing Attorney
Zebraworks turns rate management into a structured worklist. For an annual review, the system identifies the clients and rate sets requiring attention for each billing attorney while filtering out items that do not require review, such as clients without open matters or rates that are already current.
Attorneys can make decisions for multiple clients at one time. Workflow customization enables appropriate approvals and oversight.
One View for Billing and Finance
For billing and finance teams, Rate Management provides a central view of the entire process. Teams can see the status of each client, identify completed and outstanding reviews, reassign responsibility, include or exclude items, override outcomes when necessary and finalize decisions.
The workflow also surfaces potential complications before approval. Shared rate sets, matters associated with another billing attorney and split-billing arrangements are flagged for review. Users can drill into supporting details including individual timekeeper rates, other billing attorneys associated with a rate set, matter counts and billed amounts.
Built on Your Aderant Data
Rate Management works with the financial data firms already maintain in Aderant through Zebraworks’ integration, eliminating the need to recreate rate information in a separate system.
While annual rate review represents one of the most consequential rate-management events of the year, the same workflow supports rate changes as they occur throughout the year—giving firms greater visibility and control over a process directly tied to revenue realization.
“Firms put enormous effort into deciding what their rates should be,” Bice said. “The operational challenge is making sure those decisions actually get carried through. We want to make rate management a checklist instead of a chase.”
Rate Management is part of the Zebraworks Revenue Acceleration platform for law firms.
